Blue Access believes that community-based programs are essential to ensuring that every human being has access to safe, clean water. We are committed to supporting community-led efforts that work towards a water-secure future for all.

We provide support to projects that seek to address the disproportionate effect that the water crisis has on underserved communities. We aim to empower organizations and individuals developing programs, research, and technology that make water and wastewater services equitable, safe, affordable, accessible, and non-discriminatory.

Our grants focus on these three broad areas:

Community-led Research: We fund innovative research that takes a collaborative regional approach to addressing racial and economic disparities in water and sanitation access, as well as identifying potential solutions to local water insecurity issues.

Community-based Programs: We provide support to programs that raise awareness about local water struggles, foster local solutions that address water challenges, and engage community members to build coalitions around their water needs.

Closing the Technology Gap: We offer grant opportunities to empower people developing technology, which can close the racial and income water technology gap. We take a community-centered approach by working with community leaders and residents to identify and amplify pioneering efforts to democratize water technology.

We have established two grant programs, the “Blue Access Community Empowerment Grants” and the “Blue Access Community Water Pioneering Grants”. Blue Access will assign inquiries received for consideration to the appropriate grant program.

If your work or your organization aligns with our program priorities, please send introductions and inquiries to info@blueaccess.org. We acknowledge inquiries upon receipt.
